The city of Coronel Ezequiel is located in the Borborema Potiguar, in the Trairí Region, near the border of the State of Paraíba.The name of the city is in honor of Colonel Ezequiel Mergelino de Sousa (1866–1953), one of the great men responsible for the development of the region. With a little more than 5 thousand inhabitants, the municipality commemorates traditionally in the month of June the Feast of São Pedro in great style.One of the local tourist spots to visit is the Poço dos Cágados.
